Professional Development
Dual Professional – Educational Expertise

It takes four years (or maybe more) of intensive study to become an osteopath. Added to experience after qualifying, this should give a sound base of knowledge and skills to pass on. But, like osteopaths, teachers don't develop their skills overnight.

There's much to learn about the process of learning itself, and while many of the skills can be gained "on the job" we expect our faculty to be aware of their responsibility to develop their teaching proficiency.

Attendance at staff development events is essential to keep everyone in touch with what's going on.

We therefore commit resources to supporting you in the development of teaching skills, from induction and forwards through your academic career.
