How do I borrow books? >>>
To borrow a book you need to be registered as a library user. Ask one of the librarians at the issue desks and they will add you to the system. We don’t issue cards. Membership of the library lasts for the duration of your career as a professional osteopath. email the library or contact us: Home
How many books can I borrow?
Each library user is able to borrow 4 items (this includes books, research projects, videos and DVDs): Catalogue.
How long can I keep a book for?
Each book is subject to a 28-day loan period. Books may be renewed for a further month if they have not been requested by another BSO member.
How long can I keep a video/ DVD for?
DVDs and videos can be loaned for 7 days. Please rewind videos before you return them and be careful not to scratch the DVDs.
How do I find a book?
There are two main ways to find a particular book in the library. Ask a librarian at one of the issue desks or search using the OPAC catalogue. To access the catalogue:
· Enter your search into the search box on either the library Home or Catalogue page on the intranet,
· Go to the online catalogue site OPAC
How do I refer to a book or article?
Library Rules
· In order to ensure that the library maintains a studious (quiet) atmosphere there are a few rules that you should abide by:
· Keep noise levels to a minimum,
· Turn off your mobile phone / put it on silent (if you do get a call, please take it outside),
· Do not congregate outside the library for too long (noise travels),
· Food and drink is permitted but please be careful with it,
· Models are not to be taken away from the library without permission and cannot be taken home.
